The Sanders Team aims to win western states in the second half of the primary season.
After a series of appearances along the west coast, Bernie Sanders drew a crowd of over 15,000 supporters to Safeco Field in Seattle.
“Tomorrow morning in the great state of Washington we are going to say loud and clear the billionaire class cannot have it all. Tomorrow morning we are going to tell the world we demand a government that represents all of us, not just a handful of wealthy campaign contributors,” Sanders said during the speech.
Before returning to primary states, Sanders took a detour from Arizona into California, holding rallies in San Diego and Los Angeles. In a conversation with the LA Times editorial board, Sanders indicated that he was laying the groundwork for a strong California ground game, with plans for a successful primary come June.
Sanders is currently poised for a strong performance in Saturday’s contests, which will feature caucuses in Alaska, Hawaii, and Washington.
